SNAG

The Southern Nevada Arborist Group (affectionately known as SNAG in the industry) is a group of professionals and dedicated tree friends that has been incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation by the State of Nevada since 1994. SNAG meets regularly to promote the proper selection, planting, care and maintenance of trees of all types. The members of SNAG have embraced the concepts of the International Society of Arboriculture and promote safe and sound tree care.

“Right tree, Right location” is a maxim in the Arboricultural industry.  The research, time and thought in selecting the appropriate tree for a given location will yield many positive benefits and avoid unnecessary hardships for years to come.  Use our guides and tools to achieve the results you desire for your living environment.

Installing your tree properly will ensure it gets off to a healthy start and continues to develop free from limitations, pests and disease or other abiotic problems.  Learn how and what to do to have a successful planting and learn the important things to avoid to ensure your success.  ALSO- learn how to manage the difficulties of Turf conversion to Xeri-scape to protect existing trees!

Current Officers for SNAG

President

Joe Noriega is the current SNAG Board President. Joe has been in the green industry as landscape designer, horticultural consultant and Certified Arborist since 2009.  As development manager he built and developed the Mr Tree brand here in the Las Vegas valley.  Tree Risk Assessment Qualified – TRAQ serves to provide risk assessment and tree evaluations.  Selected as Trailblazer for 2021 for contributions to proper palm servicing.

Debra Jacobson (SNAG Treasurer) grew up in western New York where she graduated from B & S Business Institute in 1968, with a major in business….  Selected as Trailblazer for 2022 for contributions to SNAG and other community projects in Henderson and throughout the valley.
